Gospel artiste Bahati sparked controversy over the weekend when he
sat on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s official chair, while performing in
Kasarani Stadium during the launch of Jubilee Party.
The singer was performing his hit song, Mama, which is an
inspiring tribute to his late mother who passed away when he was young.
Bahati pulled Uhuru Kenyatta from his seat so that he could serenade for
Kenya’s First Lady, Margaret Kenyatta.
This move elicited mixed reaction with the crowd cheering him on for
the brave act and remarkable performance, while some
government officials were left in dismay since that was a breach of
protocol as per the military rules.
Well, the singer real name, Kevin Kioko, see’s it as a moment of
glory and one of the biggest achievements of his music career, if this
post he shared on his social media is anything to go by:
Well, what can I say, the young man is indeed making some big milestones in his career and personal life, but now, away from all that, Bahati was recently spotted with Bongo singer Alikiba’s ex-girlfriend, Jokate Mwegelo.
The Tanzanian beauty is a celebrated name in the East African showbiz
industry. She is a former pageant winner, a renowned actress, and a TV
show host, who is now running a lifestyle brand that designs and
manufactures lifestyle items for the African market, dubbed Kidoti.
Jokate shared a photo with Bahati, with this short caption: “It was real @bahatikenya #Kidoti ”. She also shared a video while in Mathare slums where Bahati had taken her to show the down the earth lass where he grew up.
She shared the video with this touching caption: “Asante @bahatikenya kunileta Nairobi, kwenye slums za Mathare ambako alikula. Leo hii Kenya nzima celebrates you. Your humble beginnings are inspirational. God bless you. #Kidoti “
It looks like the two may have a new project together, as she was
also pictured with gospel singers, Mr Seed and Weezdom, who were born
in Mathare and Kenyan actor, Daniel Weke. I bet with time we will be
able to find out what they are up to.
