Purpose of the Position
Under the supervision and guidance of the Child Protection Specialist, - UNICEF Tanzania, the incumbent supports the implementation , monitoring and reporting as per the Child Justice Work Plan signed between partners and UNICEF.
Key Expected Results
  • Provided Admistrative support to project officer with up to date monthly work plans and travel plans in timely manner and facilitated project implementation.
  • Provided the project teams with required all logistical support for implementation including timely availability of transportation for field work.
  • Availed the supplies required by the different project components plus other contracting services as required.
  • Provide all documentation required for implementation of project activities based on direct payment modalities and up to date filling system in place.
  • Provided timely direct cash payment to project stakeholder are required in field during implementation of the project.
  • Process and ensure timely payment of contractors, consultants and other third party stakeholders.
  • Funds for the project implementation is available and accessibly as required and safely kept with proper accounting records.
  • Participate in regular project implementation and monitoring visit to end-users.
  • Documented lessons learnt for project implementation especially on direct payment modalities for improved services delivery and replication to other projects.
  • Complied project narrative and financial reports on monthly ,quarterly ,bi-annual and annual reports
Key Accountabilities and Duties & Tasks
  • Take overall responsibility for provision of all admistrative support required by the project officers implementing child Justice project ( including consolidating work and travel plans, drafting Travel authorization request for approval and security clearance)
  • Take responsibility for the organization of the logistics required for project implementation (including LTA for transportation request and payments ),
  • Follow up on procurement of supplies as well as other services to be provide by the project.
  • Collect all required documentations for effective direct payment modalities transactions for the Programme and maintains up to date records and filing systems.
  • Process all direct payment to partners (e.g. Participants DSA during of training sessions in field …)
  • Take financial responsibilities and accountabilities over project finances including custody of petty cash for the project.
  • Draft and finalize letters, note for the records and memos and other correspondences to government and other IPs and also to UNICEF country Office in Dar es Salaam.
  • Participate in regular field visits to monitor progress over implementation of activities as per the AWP.
  • Undertakes project data collection and documentation of lessons learnt for informing the project on best practices for replication.
  • Contributes to project reporting on monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual reporting of project results in UNICEF.
Qualifications of Successful Candidate
  • Completion of secondary Education preferably supplemented with University courses in accounting, procurement and logistic or other relevant field in the area of project management.
  • A minimum of Six years of professional work experience at regional level or organizational level including experience in supporting the justice sector organs.
  • Be highly motivated, organized and task-oriented person, someone with good knowledge of Vision and UNICEF Policies and Procedures including HACT and FACE shall be added advantage.
  • Drive for results, ability to work under pressure with short deadlines

  • Experience and knowledge of UN system or NGO's
